WELCON TO MY AUTHOR PAGE

I am a poet, writer and avid reader of all genres of literature with a passion for Black History.  As early as the third grade, I composed my very first poem and that was the beginning of a love affair with poetry with a keen awareness of Black History as I got older. 

My hope is that through writing, I’ll be able to educate others about the historical significance and challenges African Americans have faced throughout history including those events which are rarely discussed or taught in public schools…including the African American role in the Civil War.

Through poetic expression, my desire is the to share knowledge with the younger generation to learn more about their ancestors and culture; while letting them know that they are much more than what some in society has labeled them.
